What is Mental HEALTH?
It is the state of well-being in which the individual realizes his/her own abilities, can work with normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to contribute to his or her community.
WHAT IS A MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAM?
It refers to the psychosocial, psychiatric, or neurologic activities and programs along the whole range of the mental health support services including promotion, prevention, treatment, and aftercare, which are provided by mental health facilities and mental health professionals.
WHO PROVIDE THE MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAMS/SERVICES?
WHO ELSE CAN BE A MENTAL HEALTH PROVIDER?
They are called the Mental Health Workers. They are trained persons, volunteers or advocates engaged in mental health promotion, providing support services under the supervision of Mental Health Professionals.
WHO CAN TRAIN AND SUPERVISE THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES?
WHAT IS THE FOCUS OF THE MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES OF SFICC?
The focus of the mental health services of SFICC is the provision of preventive, compact, solution-focused and recovery-approach psychosocial interventions to individuals following a traumatic event, natural disaster, or public health emergency. It also integrates referral service as a system for linking clients to resources and to a more specialized psychological and counseling services provided by counselors, psychologists, and psychiatrists. Only clients in the mild to moderate level of distress/emotional problems or concerns will be served. Those with marked distress or moderate to disabling or chronic level of impairment will be referred to other mental health professionals for a more specialized type of mental health services (e.g., pharmacotherapy, psychotherapy, counseling, psychological evaluation).
